Nico's Cafe reopened Friday to a booming lunch crowd at its new location in the Waynesville Plaza.

The restaurant, which was once located on Montgomery Street, has found a new home in the stand-alone building near Papa John's.

Nico's serves a variety of sandwiches, salads, wraps and soups blending Spanish, Cuban and Italian cultures. They are open Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. for breakfast and lunch.

The new building offers a more convenient location as well as better parking and air conditioning, which was lacking at the old locaiton, said owner Michelle Pipitone.

And for the many customers who call in pickup orders, the restaurant now has a drive through window for quick service.
