No playoffs for Tuscola boys soccer

Franklin ends Mountaineers’ season with 4-1 WNCAC victory on ‘Senior Night’

Visiting Franklin didn’t cooperate at all with the Tuscola varsity boys soccer team’s celebration of “Senior Night.”
Despite being out shot, 15-9, the Panthers defeated the Mountaineers, 4-1, in the regular-season finale at C.E. Weatherby Stadium Wednesday night.
The loss dropped Tuscola, which missed qualifying for the state playoffs, to 6-13-1 overall and 4-9-1 in the WNC Athletic Conference. Franklin improved to 10-10-0 overall and 4-10-0 in the WNCAC.
At 26:31 of the first half, senior Aaron Westhusing scored to give the Mountaineers a 1-0 lead. But Franklin scored twice after to take a 2-1 halftime lead and added its final goal at the 32:03 mark of the second half.
Tuscola’s seniors were Westhusing, Zach Hasseler, Harrison Jones, Ian Smith, Jackson Sease and Tristan Baldwin.
