Food, Fun and Family!!!

North Canton Elementary School held its annual Fall Festival on Friday, September 28.  We had a very large turnout from the community.  The festival was held mainly outside with a wide variety of activities.  PTO hosted the dunking machine which was graciously donated by Canton Youth League.  Some of our special guests included Mike Ray; Mayor of Canton; Stacy Freeman, teacher assistant and Latch Key Director; Principal Todd Barbee; Tom Long, businessman; Billy Shephard, P.E. Instructor and Jim Francis, school board member.  We appreciate their participation so much.

Each grade level hosted their own activities which was the most successful that the school has had in several years because we sold out of tickets!!  The activities were raffles, 50/50 drawing, glow sticks and bracelets, pick a duck and win a prize, hair beading, fear factor, lollipop pull, dancing, BINGO, fishing, water gun fun, tattoos, dancing, karaoke, face painting, cake walk, toilet paper toss, fortune telling, hair painting, Ms. Arty Pants, feed the rock monster, roll and win stuffed animals, bean bag toss, hay rides and inflatables.  PTO sold Krispy Kreme donuts, candy, coffee, hot chocolate and Russian Tea.  The guidance department made blue cotton candy and computer lab made fresh popcorn.  Our NCE office staff held a booth to sell North Canton School Merchandise.  We had something for every age group from 4 to 84.  Our cafeteria ladies provided a yummy hot dog supper along with two kinds of funnel cakes, nachos and slushies.

A special thanks to Canton Police Department for providing security patrol and portable lighting. Thank you to Pisgah Senior High School Carpentry for making and donating a spinning wheel to PTO and to the Holland family for donating the hay for the hayride.  We just can't express how much appreciation we hold towards our community for coming out and supporting us this year.  It is because of our community, staff, parents, volunteers and children that we succeed and continue to improve.  Smiling children, outside environment and a support system beyond measure gave North Canton Elementary a Fall Festival that we are proud of!
