We were planning to hike on Richland Balsam Trail, but when we got to the Blue Ridge Parkway entrance it was closed due to snow. We shifted to the Lake Junaluska Walking Trail, which is where Gordon gave Marcia her engagement ring over 28 years ago. The 2.5 mile trail which goes all around the lake was very busy and is well maintained sidewalk or paved stretches around Lake Junaluska.
We took a few pictures of Swans on the lake and were reminded that, “The Swan” starring Grace Kelly was filmed at Lake Junaluska in 1956.
