Notes on Quotes: Hiking and Hank Williams, 1923-1953

While discussing our columns we we have found the Little Tennessee River Greenway Morris Trace trail near the Nikwasi Mound in downtown Franklin to be an excellent trail. It starts at Big Bear Park which has restrooms and picnic facilities.  Next door is Wesley’s Park, a popular and well equipped children’s playground, which also has a small water play section for children during warmer months.

The hike is along the Little Tennessee River going to the Suli Marsh, where we have seen beavers playing and working. The educational signs are informative and have pictures of some of the wild flowers and plants you will encounter along the trail. The Nikwasi ...
