We were looking over the 2010 study made by Wilbur Smith Associates on “Waynesville Comprehensive Pedestrian Plan,” during the time Lee Galloway was Waynesville Town Manager. Waynesville has done some exemplary advanced planning on urban pedestrian hiking and recreation. We had walked the Northern section of the Waynesville Greenway around Industrial Park Drive and Lake Junaluska. We had also walked the area around the Waynesville Recreational Center but wanted to check out the entirety of the urbanized section, along North Main Street and Asheville Road. We parked and began hiking at Summit Street, and continued toward Industrial Park Drive.
