Open Door hosts fashion show success

The Open Door’s Fall Preview Fashion Show, “Imagination Matters,” turned into an impromptu political rally Oct. 6, as the two contenders for North Carolina House seat 119 made an appearance and mingled with the crowd at the charity event in Waynesville’s historic Frog Level.

The first annual fashion show was a success, having  sold out of tickets before the doors opened. Jenn Riddle and Rikki Walker produced and directed a group of local models wearing apparel pulled directly from the Open Door’s Second Blessing Thrift Store. Attendees were provided a delicious lunch by the same kitchen and staff who feed the area’s hungry every day. The thrift store has a tremendous selection of “almost new” clothing and the models all looked spectacular strutting down the catwalk for the audience.
