Our Savior Lutheran Church to host Easter Fair

Apr 08, 2014

Our Savior Lutheran Church in Clyde will host an Easter Fair from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 12.  Everyone in the community is invited to come and enjoy the fun on the grounds of the church.

“The purpose of the Easter Fair is to allow the church’s members, friends, and neighbors to get together and share in some fellowship that emphasizes the joy of the Easter season,” said Maggie King, education director of Our Savior. “We are a welcoming church dedicated to sharing the good news of Jesus Christ.”

All ages are welcome.  There will be many special children’s activities such as crafts, face painting, an obstacle course and games such as ring toss, beanbag toss and an egg scramble.  Participants in the games will receive small prizes.  The crafts will include a coloring contest and making wooden crosses.  The main event, an Easter egg hunt for candy-filled plastic eggs, will start at 11:30 a.m.  A complimentary hot dog lunch will be provided for everyone at the conclusion of the egg hunt.

The church is located on Paragon Parkway directly across the Smoky Mountain Expressway from the Haywood Regional Hospital.  There is ample parking.  The fair will be held rain or shine.

The church’s schedule of special worship services for Holy Week starts the day after the fair. Sunday school and adult Bible class start at 9:30 a.m., with worship following at 10:30 a.m.  There will also be Maundy Thursday and Good Friday services starting at 6:30 p.m. April 17-18.
