Parrott celebrates Guilford decision on special dayTuscola standout to play center for D-III Quakers
On Tuesday, July 9, Tuscola High School graduate Alex Parrott announced his decision to continue his football career at Guilford College.
He announced his decision on the perfect day — his birthday.
The NCAA Division III school recruited the 5-foot-11, 275-pound Parrott to play center for the Quakers’ football team and he’ll also join former Tuscola standout Chad Christopher, who will be a sophomore wide receiver for Guilford College this fall.
“I thank God foremost for blessing me with this opportunity,” said Parrott, who plans to study business. “But if it wasn’t for Coach (Brandon) Allen pushing me these last four years, I don’t know if this opportunity would have ever happened. I am embarking on a new journey, a new adventure in my life and I am so excited about it. For the next four years, I will be a Guilford Quaker, but I always will be a Tuscola Mountaineer for the rest of my life.”
According to Tuscola Head Coach Brandon Allen, his prize offensive lineman is blessed with this opportunity because of his hardwork.
“Alex is an exceptional young man,” said Coach Allen. “Guilford is getting a good man and they are excited about his decision. We are excited he is getting an opportunity to get a great education and play college football. He has been blessed with all because of all his hardwork.”
