A Loved Man

WAYNESVILLE —  Paul Metcalf,83, of Pine Street, passed away Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012, at Mission Hospital.

A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, he was the son of the late James Robert and Robena Bumgarner Metcalf and was also preceded in death by a brother, Clyde Metcalf and a foster child, Charles Shuler.  He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and retired from Dayco as a painter after 20 years service.  Paul was a member of Calvary Road Baptist Church where he served on the grounds committee and also had served as a former Junior Deacon at Barberville Baptist Church.  He was a master carpenter and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and loved talking with his family.
