Loving Husband, Father
CANTON — James Paul Moore, 79, of 16 East St., passed away Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013.
Mr. Moore was born May 26, 1933, in Haywood County to the late Homer Moore and the late Cora Mayfield Moore. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having honorably served during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Moore had been employed in the grocery industry for 60 years. He had worked with Waynesville Wholesale and later devoted many years as a store manager with Bi-Lo Grocery, Inc. throughout Western North Carolina. Mr. Moore was a member of Clyde First Baptist Church. Paul loved people and was a friend to everyone. Always willing to lend a helping hand, he shall never be forgotten.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters and five brothers.
Surviving are his loving wife of 56 years, Zola Washabaugh Moore; a daughter, Lynda Moore, of Canton; sisters, Shirley Sentelle, and her huband, Bill Sentelle, of Bethel and Carolyn Pressley, and her husband, Ron Pressley, of Cullowhee.
To honor Mr. Moore’s request, no formal funeral services will be held. Friends are welcome to visit with the Moore family at their home, 16 East St., Canton.
