WAYNESVILLE — Paul Wayne Trantham, 84, of Waynesville, died Monday, June 25, 2012. He was born Oct. 31, 1927, to the late Lawson and Jennie Trantham in Crabtree.

Mr. Trantham was a banker for over 50 years, a veteran of the U.S Navy serving during World War II, a member of the Lake Junaluska Baptist Church, and a Gideon.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Eula Mae Trantham; two daughters, Ruth Sprague (Keith), of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, and Martha Grasty, of Waynesville; a brother, Howard Trantham, of Waynesville; a sister, Betty Trull, of Asheville; five grandchildren, Martha Jane and Sarah of Florida, and John, Mathew and Mark of Waynesville; and three great-grandchildren, Andrew and Sadie, of Florida, and Elijah, of Waynesville.
