CLYDE — Phillip Wayne Ledford, 64, passed away Sunday, May 18, 2014.
A native of Haywood County, he was the son of Flossia Smith Ledford and the late Reeves Ledford and was also preceded in death by a sister, Zella Kirkland. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served during the Vietnam era. Phillip worked as an auto body repairman and enjoyed fishing and dancing. He was a member of Belmont Baptist Church.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by a sister, Ethylene Hatfield, of Kings Mountain; one brother, Gerald Ledford, of Clyde; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, May 22, in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Revs. Kenny Banks and Jimmy Moore officiating. Burial will be at Fines Creek Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Thursday prior to services at the funeral home.
