PHS football alumni answers coach’s call
CANTON — Curtis Cagle is a Pisgah graduate and the current North Buncombe head football coach.
Desperately needing funds to help him rebuild the Black Hawks’ football program, Cagle called on some old friends.
The call was answered with typical Pisgah High School enthusiasm.
On Saturday, June 14, the undefeated Pisgah gridiron alumni will play North Buncombe’s alumni team in Weaverville to raise money for Cagle’s program and the Bethel Youth Organization.
“Coach Cagle is, and always will be, one of us,” said Scott Mooer (Class of 1988), who is playing in the alumni game. “He put in a call for help to raise money for his football program and Pisgah answered the call will enthusiasm.”
Kickoff is 7:30 p.m. from North Buncombe High School. Tickets for the gridiron alumni game are $8 each and can be purchased at the gate or at Hometown Hardware (Canton), Tesa’s Tanning (Canton), all Single Stop stores and Franks Grocery Store (Cruso).
At each of the sites will be selling T-shirts for the alumni game on sale for $18.
