Pisgah beats Tuscola in four

CANTON — Although the match didn’t go the full five sets, it still went down to the wire.
In a highly charged meeting between a pair of area powers and longtime powers, the Pisgah varsity volleyball team rebounded from a loss last week to West Henderson to defeat Tuscola, 3-1 (22-25, 25-20,  25-15, 25-22), in a WNC Athletic Conference match Tuesday night.
The Black Bears, which improved to 7-2 overall and 3-1 in the WNCAC, played at North Henderson Thursday night. At press time, no results were available. Pisgah will go on a three-match road trip next week, playing at Enka Monday, at Smoky Mountain Tuesday and at Brevard Thursday.
