CANTON — Playing in Class 3-A for the first time in more than a decade, Pisgah head girls basketball coach Brandon Holloway would like to tout his team as an underdog.
However, coaches and members of the media around the state are not buying what Holloway is selling.
Given a major boost from winning the KSA Holiday Classic at Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex. including big wins against two ranked powerhouses, the Pisgah varsity girls basketball team cracked the Max Preps polls released Monday afternoon.
The Black Bears, who are 12-1 on the season (results of Tuesday’s Smoky game not available), landed in the No. 7 spot in NCHSAA Class 3-A poll and No. 20 overall in all the state’s classification.
