Pisgah High School receives ExxonMobil Educational Alliance Grant
Pisgah High School received an ExxonMobil Educational Alliance Grant through Peak Energy, a distributor in Western North Carolina.
Todd Blevins, president of Peak Energy, Mark Higdon, wholesale manager, and Jessica McCoy, retail supervisor, presented the $500 check on behalf of Exxon Mobil and Peak Energy.
The ExxonMobil Educational Alliance is "supporting education one school at a time," by granting money for schools each year, directing that the funds be used for math and science activities, Blevins said.
This year the alliance has granting $1.8 million to benefit schools, including many public and nonprofit private, primary and secondary. Some of the grants have been used to enhance the math and science programs by providing speakers, field trips, scholarships and awards to encourage academic and leadership excellence, science fairs, educational tools, and parent/community events.
