Pisgah Pavement Pounder 5K set for Nov. 16
The proceeds from the upcoming second annual Pisgah Pavement Pounder will benefit needy students at Pisgah High School.
The 5K is set for 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 16 at the high school. This year's race is sponsored by the Pisgah High School National Honor Society.
Runners can pre-register for the race online at www.ImAthlete.com for $20 or may register the day of for $25. Registration cost includes a t-shirt.
Participants will receive a bib chip timing device provided by Right on Time Productions in Asheville to track their racing times.
The race will begin at Pisgah and travel up Highway 215 past the Pisgah baseball field, loop around to the Canton Recreation Park, go behind the football stadium, in front of Canton Middle School and will end back at the high school.
Awards will be given to the top three finishers in each 10-year age group for males and females.
Money raised from the event will go to help needy Pisgah students purchase food, clothing, school supplies and other daily needs identified by a school guidance counselor.
