Pisgah’s Rowland signs with Montreat
CANTON — Despite waiting more than two months after the high school baseball season ended, Pisgah senior Heath Rowland said he never worried about his future.
He knew it would be Montreat College because it just felt like it was the perfect choice.
On Monday, he made it official.
Rowland, a slugging third baseman and first baseman, signed with the Montreat Cavaliers to play baseball.
He will join current Cavaliers infielder and former Pisgah standout Caleb Harbin in coach Michael Bender’s program at Montreat.
“Montreat offers me everything I’m looking for,” said Rowland. “It’s a small school, Christian oriented and it’s close to home. It’s the perfect place for me. On my visit, I was treated as if I was already part of the team. Another plus is Caleb Harbin and I become teammates again.
