Pisgah wins homecoming shootout

CANTON — The Pisgah varsity football team and visiting North Henderson staged a homecoming shootout of major magnitude Friday night at Memorial Stadium.
The resilient Black Bears needed everything in their arsenal to outscore the determined Knights, 48-33, that featured 844 yards of total offense, 40 first downs and 19 penalties.
Pisgah improved to 3-6 overall and 2-3 in the WNC Athletic Conference. North Henderson fell to 1-8 and 1-4 in the conference.
The win also moved Pisgah closer to securing the conference’s top 2-A seed for the upcoming playoffs — providing the Black Bears can win their final two games of the regular season.
Pisgah’s next opponent will be Smoky Mountain (3-6, 3-2 WNCAC) for Senior Night Friday, Oct. 19, at Memorial Stadium.
