Poker run to benefit teacher

Nov 13, 2013

Local band Smoke Rise is sponsoring a poker run Nov. 16 to benefit teacher Kimberly Griffith.

Griffith is a local teacher who is moving to Guatemala to teach English. Proceeds will help pay for her travel expenses so she can continue to make a difference in children’s lives.

Registration will begin at 10 a.m. at The Rendezvous Restaurant in Maggie Valley and will begin at noon. The cost is $20 per bike or car. There will be raffles, silent auctions, bale sale, cakewalk, and live entertainment from Smoke Rise.
