Motorcycle enthusiasts are invited to support STAR Ranch by attending the organization’s first Poker Run Saturday, Oct. 12. Registration is from 11 a.m. to noon at Maggie Valley Inn & Conference Center, located at 70 Soco Road. The cost is $20 per bike and $10 per passenger which includes a pizza buffet and one beer.

The route of the run is approximately 75 miles and will wind through Haywood County, including a portion of the Blue Ridge Parkway. The fall foliage will be beautiful, but dress warmly as the parkway can be chilly.

The winning poker hand will receive $500 thanks to Ken Wilson Ford.
“Fundraisers like this, faithful monthly donations and horse sponsorships make it possible for STAR Ranch to do what they do,” said Beth Brown, coordinator of the poker run.
