Police search for theft suspects

Waynesville police are on the search for three suspects who broke into lockers at the Waynesville Recreation Center and stole credit cards, cash and checks.

The suspects broke the locks of two rented lockers June 20 and promptly spent about $2,200 at Lowe’s, said Lt. Chris Chandler.

The money was spent at the home improvement store before the victims were even finished working out, Chandler said.

After Lowe’s the suspects went to Walmart and spent less than $200 using a stolen check. They attempted to use the credit cards, but the victims had already cancelled their cards by that time, Chandler said.

Detectives are looking for two males and one female. The woman is petite with blonde hair and appears to be in her late 20s.
