CANTON — Pisgah senior Sheridan Pressley is a standout in volleyball, basketball and softball and had colleges recruiting her in all three sports.
As of Sunday night, Pressley has decided to follow her heart to the Queen City and committed to play basketball at Queens University in Charlotte, a member of the NCAA Division II South Atlantic Conference.
Pressley, who led the 26-7 Black Bears last season to the Dean Dome for the state 2-A championship, was the Co-Western North Carolina Athletic Conference Player of the Year. She averaged 15.6 points, 4.1 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game.
Pressley will get to play in the new home for the Royals’ basketball teams — the $30 million Levine Center, which opened August 19, 2013.
The arena is a three-story, 145,000 square-foot building that provides incredible new facilities for student wellness, recreation and athletics.
