MedWest-Haywood is offering prostate screenings for $20 each from 8 to 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 22, as part of National Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. Richard Steele, MD and Brooks Hooper, MD of Blue Mountain Urology will conduct the screenings. Men interested in getting one of these prostate screenings need to call registered nurse Kathy Keogh with MedWest Wellness at 452-8089 to register and make an appointment.

Prostate screenings help with early detection of prostate cancer. Men who particularly should consider having a prostate screening include men who are at least 50 years old, men who are African-American, and men who have a brother, son or father who had prostate cancer before the age of 60.
