Haywood County Public Library offers a literacy program called Puppy Tales at both their Canton and Waynesville libraries. By reading to certified therapy dogs, young people discover that reading can be fun. Those with children who are struggling with reading or who are reluctant readers can call either the Canton Library (684-2924) or Waynesville Library (452-5169) to set up an appointment with a therapy dog. For more information, call Lisa Hartzell, 648-2924 or e-mail lhartzell@haywoodnc.net.
