Rad’s Takeout, 42 Montgomery St., in Waynesville, opened in early October.

The restaurant specializes in chicken and rice dishes, served in a variety of ways, such as seasoned rice and chicken with veggies, Hawaiian chicken and a Mexican-themed fiesta plate. The restaurant also serves soup, salads, desserts and sweet Southern tea. Rad’s motto is “chicken and rice and everything nice.”

Owners Bill and Becca DeVoe have a background in hospitality, and restaurant management and have “dreamed of opening our own little place for many years.”
