Redskins trim roster, waive Crompton
WASHINGTON — Drafting two quarterbacks in the first four rounds wasn’t good news for former Tuscola High standout Jonathan Crompton.
Well, it didn’t come as a surprise to the 25-year-old quarterback when news came Monday afternoon that the Washington Redskins decided to waive him in a move to trim its roster from 90 to 75.
Since training camp began, Crompton didn’t even get a preseason snap behind rookies Robert Griffin, Kirk Cousins and veteran Rex Grossman.
Also on Monday, cornerback Kevin Barnes was traded to the Detroit Lions for an undisclosed draft pick.
