In Loving Memory

CANTON — Reeves Franklin Glance, 80, a beloved husband, father and grandfather, entered into his heavenly home Monday, April 7, 2014.

Mr. Glance was a native of Haywood County where he had made his home most of his life before recently moving to Greenville, South Carolina. He was the son of the late James Herschel Glance and the late Rachel Reeves Glance. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Doris Ann Summey Glance, who recently passed away Thursday, February 13, 2014, and together they had shared 60 years of a blessed marriage. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Russell Glance, and sisters, Alma Shipman, Novella Robertson, Reva Swann and Ruth Yarborough.

Mr. Glance was a U. S. Army veteran and had made his career as a construction auditor. He was a loyal and faithful member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Canton. Being outside hunting for treasures with his metal detector, going fishing and hunting were some of the things that he enjoyed. Reeves also loved watching sports — especially the Atlanta Braves — but his most precious enjoyment came from being with his loving family. Reeves will always be remembered as a true family man and a devoted Christian.

He is survived by his daughters, Pam Bishop, and her husband, Joel Bishop, of Greenville, South Carolina, Gwen Khorrami, and her husband, Mahmood Khorrami, of Fairplay, South Carolina; sons, Doug Glance, of Greenville, South Carolina, and Danny Glance, of Canton; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, in the chapel of Crawford/Ray Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Military honors will be conducted at the funeral home. Burial will be at Little Sandy Methodist Church Cemetery.

Crawford/Ray Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Glance Family and words of comfort may be shared at
