HICKORY — Rena Mae Arrington Brown, 86, of Hickory, died Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, at her residence.

Born Dec. 15, 1925, in Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Dewey Luther Arrington and Lockey Daisy Hance Arrington. She worked for Southern Furniture for 17 years and enjoyed being outdoors whether it was tending to flowers and garden or bird watching, which she loved.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Lee Brown; son, Charles Ray Brown; two brothers; and two sisters.

Rena is survived by her son, William Steve Brown, and wife, Susan Jonas, of Newton; daughters, Nellie Sue Barnard, and husband, Tom, of Hickory, Linda Price, of Hickory, and Joan Brown, of Hickory; special niece, Debbie Misenheimer; special sister, Audrey Arrington; ...
