Renovations are progressing smoothly at the recently acquired Spicewood Cottages (formerly Community Care #1, Mountain Hart and Hospitality Retreat retirement homes) located behind the Mountain Medical Center in Clyde.

Extensive kitchen renovations have recently been completed and work has started again in the public areas. Renovations currently being completed include new paint, flooring, light fixtures and chair rails in one of the buildings' dining and living rooms and fresh paint in the main hallway of another building.

"Obviously trying to renovate buildings while maintaining the ongoing day to day operations in occupied facilities can be challanging," said Aaron Crawford, owner and administrator of Spicewood Cottages and Haywood Lodge & Retirement Center. "We have done our very best to keep things as calm and stress free as possible for our residents while renovation work takes place. Thankfully the residents are so excited about the prospect of what's to come with each new project, they don't seem to mind a bit. We are very excited about the future of these facilities for our residents, their loved ones and even the neighborhood for that matter." he added.

Spicewood Cottages which recently become part of the Haywood Lodge & Retirement Center family and is a locally owned retirement and assisted living facility providing care to local residents for many years.
