WAYNESVILLE — The Rev. James Lindsay Johnson, 70, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at St. Joseph Campus.

A native of Mecklenburg County, he was the son of the late James Donald Johnson, Sr. and Edith Phibbs Johnson.  He was also preceded in death by a son, Jonathan Stokes Johnson, who died in 2006.  Jim was a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of Ridgeway Baptist Church.  He served at the Baptist Children’s Home for 21 years.  Jim was an ordained minister and served as an associate pastor for three-and-a-half years at Dellwood Baptist Church.  Jim loved the Lord and left this world sharing God’s word.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Vivian Wilson Johnson; a son, Tim Johnson, and his wife, Dawn, of Waynesville; a sister, Becky Shuford, and her husband, Dr. William ...
