MAGGIE VALLEY —  Richard William Robert Scott, 87, of Mountain View Drive, passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2012, at The Homestead, in Clyde.

A native of Boston, Massachusetts, he was a former resident of New England and Florida and had resided in Haywood County for the past 20 years.  He was the son of the late Bronson Barnes and Annie Weedon Scott and served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II.  Richard later retired from Southern Bell as an equipment technician.  He was also manager for the Black Eagle Jazz Band of New England.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Florence Rita McKillop Scott, and also missed by his stepdaughter/caretaker, Victoria Moll, of Maggie Valley; his lifelong buddy and step-grandson, Justin Moll; and brother-in-law, Al Sebring, of ...
