Ride for Pink is this weekend
The third annual Ride for Pink benefit motorcycle ride and concert will take place Saturday, Sept. 28 at Smoky Mountain Steel Horses, located at 82 Locust Drive in Waynesville. Registration will be from 10:30 a.m. to noon, and the ride begins at 12:30 p.m. Following the motorcycle ride, there will be live entertainment by the Red Dirt Revelators and Okie Dokies Smokehouse BBQ until 5 p.m.
Tickets for the event are $25 for each rider and $10 for a passenger, prices that include the food. Those who would like to attend the concert and enjoy barbecue can do so for $10.
Ride for Pink is the largest fundraiser for WNC Advocacy, a community oriented non-profit group of small business owners giving back to their community by helping under-served women through raising funds for early detection and education in their fight against breast cancer.
This year, founder Bob LaBracio hopes to raise at least $10,000, funds that are donated directly to the Haywood County Health Department to provide breast cancer education, free mammograms and screenings to qualifying women in Haywood County.
