Ride for Pink roars through town
The third annual Ride for Pink motorcycle ride was another roaring success this year, bringing in about 100 riders to raise money and awareness for breast cancer.
Motorcyclists traveled from Florida, Tennessee, Cherokee and Sylva to ride this year. With about 80 motorcycles participating, the route extending from Smoky Mountain Steel Horses through town was a noisy one.
Proceeds from this year's event will benefit the Haywood County Health Department.
The volunteers from the following organizations made the event possible: Haywood County Board of Realtors, Haywood County Headstart, Champion Credit Union, the Haywood County Health Department, Yurko Dental Excellence, Smoky Mountain Steel Horses, Smoky Mountain Coffee Roasters, Great Smokies Insurance, Waynesville and Maggie Valley police departments and the defenders.
