Robert "Robby" Burnette

CANTON — Robert "Robby" Fain Burnette, 48, of Dutch Cove Road, passed away Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013.
Mr. Burnette was born June 15, 1965 and was a lifelong resident of Haywood County. He was the son of Fain Burnette of Tignall, Georgia and Gwendolyn Trull Burnette of Enka. Robby was a former employee of Haywood County EMS for 10 years, was employed at Junaluska Feed Store and had also worked at Wells Funeral Home and Crawford / Ray Funeral Home. Robby's true passion was farming and he considered this to be his true vocation. He was a member of Pisgah Free Will Baptist Church. Robby was a special person — always willing to help others and he never met a stranger. He truly had a caring and giving heart and he loved his family deeply. Robby was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by an infant brother.
In addition to his parents he is survived by his wife of 27 years, Jill Cherry Burnette; his children, Shane Smith of the Crabtree Community, Shelby Hodgon of Canton, Kimberly Brock of Greenville, SC and Travis Smith of Canton; seven grandchildren; a stepbrother, Stacy Watts of Candler ; special friends, Phillip Beasley, Brandon and Steve Stamey and also Robby's farm animals that meant so much to him.
To honor Mr. Burnette's request, no formal funeral services were held. Burial was in New Cruso Cemetery.
