Roy 'Crow' Freeman

CANTON — Roy Martin “Crow” Freeman, 66, passed away Monday, July 28, 2014, at MedWest Haywood.
A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Sam and Annie Lee Mann Freeman. He was also preceded in death by a brother, James Freeman. He was a United States Army veteran who served in Vietnam and was a member of Burnette Cove Baptist Church. Roy enjoyed hunting, fishing, cars and NASCAR, especially No. 18.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Bonnie Grogan Freeman; two daughters, Tammy Freeman Reeves and husband, Rudy, of Leicester, and April Freeman James and husband, Allen, of Canton; two sisters, Betty West, of Travelers Rest, South Carolina, and Vera Freeman, of Canton; two brothers, Johnny Freeman, of Cadiz, Kentucky, and Keith Freeman, of Canton; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 31, at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Jack Holland officiating. Burial will follow at Cruso United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
