Ruby Jackson Browning
TAYLORSVILLE — Mrs. Ruby Jackson Browning, 91, of Waynesville, passed away Sunday, Aug. 10, 2014, at Valley Nursing Center, Taylorsville.
Ruby was born Nov. 10, 1922, to the late Fred Jackson and Nora Norman Jackson.
Ruby was an active member of Allen’s Creek Baptist Church. She was a seamstress and homemaker. She was a volunteer with the Foster Grandparent program in the Haywood County school system, one of the happiest times of her life.
Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Willard Browning; two brothers, Houston and Gabby Jackson; and a sister, Frances Jackson Cowan.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, James Fred Browning and wife, Mary, of Taylorsville; granddaughter, Laura Browning and husband, Shane, of Huntersville; great-granddaughter, Palmer Grace Harmon, of Huntersville; a brother, Clinton Jackson, of Oregon; and a number of nieces and nephews.
No formal services are planned.
