Rumble and Stumble!
The Tuscola varsity football team finally knows that winning feeling again after the Mountaineers rumbled to a 41-13 homecoming victory over Brevard in a WNCAC game at C.E. Weatherby Stadium Friday night.
Tuscola improves to 1-5 overall and 1-1 in the WNCAC. The Blue Devils slide to 0-6 overall and 0-2 in the conference.
The next game for the Mountaineers will be at North Henderson on Friday, Sept. 28.
Franklin 21, Pisgah 14
CANTON - In a matter of two minutes and 30 seconds midway through the fourth quarter, junior quarterback McKinley Brown rallied Pisgah for two touchdowns to tie Franklin at 14 in the WNCAC contest.
But on the first play from the line of scrimmage on the ensuing possession, Franklin's Marquel Manning bolted for an 85-yard TD run to give the Panthers a 21-14 victory at Memorial Stadium Friday night.
Pisgah stumbles to 1-5 overall and 0-2 in the WNCAC, while Franklin improves to 2-0 in the conference and 4-2 overall.
Pisgah travels to West Henderson next Friday (Sept. 28).
