Ruth E. Paulson
WAYNESVILLE — Ruth Paulson passed away at the age of 95. She was born in Maywood, Illinois. Following graduation from Proviso High School in 1936, she cared for her 5-year-old sister and father after her mother's death. In 1941 she married her husband Bernie. During his service in WWII she worked on an assembly line. When her daughter Jeanne was born in 1948 she became a fulltime mom, homemaker, Brownie leader, room mother, seamstress of all dance costumes and master car pooler. She always enjoyed homemaking, music and reading. Later in life she became a nursing assistant, working in obstetrics and loved teaching the new mothers.
Upon retirement she and her husband moved to Mount Dora, Florida. There they began camping across the nation, eventually traveling to 49 of the 50 states in their camper. After moving to Waynesville in 2006 she was active in her church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and continued water aerobics and walking at the gym until she was 93.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Jeanne and Steve Adler of Waynesville; granddaughters Diane DeCollibus, Christina Flick and Laura Buckmann; stepson Russ Adler; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild who all live across the state of Florida.
