Sarge’s celebrates cats with 300th adoption in 2013
Sarge’s Animal Rescue Foundation celebrated its 300th cat adoption of the year. This is first time that number of cat adoptions has been reached.
“Last year (which was Sarge’s best year for cat adoptions), there were 233 cats adopted the whole year,” said Sarge’s board member and adoption committee member Michael Ritter.
The 300th adopters are Carolyn and John Sizemore of Waynesville. They chose Pinky, one of Sarge’s adult cats.
“The Sarge’s cat committee went all out to make this a very special occasion,” said committee member Nancy Lux. “We were driving around like the Publisher’s Clearing House Prize Patrol with the extra special goodie bag in the car. It included a new sisal cat scratching post, cat bed, cat toys and treats and much more. We also got balloons in the Sarge’s color scheme.
The Sizemore’s daughter knew they had been wanting a Sarge’s cat for some time so for Christmas, she bought and wrapped up all of the things they would need to get a cat and told them to go to Sarge’s and pick out a cat. They chose Pinky Dec. 26.
