Sarge’s Animal Rescue Foundation continued its record year in November with a total of 64 animals (29 cats and 35 dogs) adopted in November, a 31 percent increase vs. last year. The total year-to-date is 680 adoptions (270 cats and 410 dogs). This is a year-to-date increase of 23 percent for total animals, a 36 percent increase for cats and a 16 percent increase for dogs.

“It was good ending to a great month,” said adoptions coordinator and board member Michael Ritter. “Eleven animals were adopted out Nov. 30. Thanks to everyone who came out and helped at Sarge’s and PetSmart.”

Sarge’s and Aidan’s Fund are also sponsoring “Home for the Holidays," a program which has helped hundreds of dogs and cats at the Haywood County Animal Shelter find homes during the holiday season by providing low cost adoptions. The animal shelter has cats and dogs available for adoption at a reduced rate through Dec. 31.

“All the pets are looking for a loving home,” said Sarge’s board president Gary Smith. “This is an important time of year for pets that need homes.”
