Sarge’s Animal Rescue Foundation reported it is at maximum capacity and is looking for helpers at the adoption center with both dog and cat care. The staff is looking for volunteers to help — anytime between 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. — with cleaning, walking dogs, feeding and filling water bowls.

Those who are new volunteers and haven’t been through Sarge’s orientation are asked to email Caitlin Morrow, volunteer coordinator (sarge.vol.coordinator@gmail.com), to set up a time and get started.

Also, office/customer service volunteer help is needed from noon – 5 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays. Volunteers will help with customer service, interacting with the public who visit dogs/cats and answering telephones. Sarge’s offers training and there is always a staff member present with the volunteer to help answer questions.

Since Sarge’s is at capacity currently at the adoption center, the staff is seeking help with foster homes.

“We have puppies, small adult dogs and large adult dogs needing foster homes,” said Morrow. “Please stop by our adoption center to meet some potential foster dogs. If you are a new foster home willing to help, email sarge.vol.coordinator@gmail.com to go through a brief orientation and sign paperwork to place a foster animal in your home.”

Sarge’s Adoption Center is at 256 Industrial Park Dr., Waynesville. Call 828-246-9050 or visit www.sargeanimals.org.
