At 9:45 AM on Saturday, December 22nd, Robin Hollinger arrived at the Sarge Adoption Center after driving overnight from Washington, D.C. to adopt Buck, a Rottweiler/Treeing Walker Coonhound mix, thus achieving Sarge's 600th adoption for 2012.

That was just the beginning for animals saved Saturday.  Eight other dogs were adopted at the adoption center along with two cats.  Additionally, two more cats were adopted at PetSmart.  Adding to that, seven cats and four dogs were also adopted during the week of December 17th bringing the total for the week to 24 adoptions.  Our total adoptions for the year to date is now 613.  It is a magnificent achievement.

As Michael Ritter said, "A big thank you to everyone who helped make this a great week for 24 animals.  I hope everyone has a great Christmas and remember … the year isn't over yet."

Sarge's invites you to join Sarge's committed volunteer team.  Call Sarge's at 246-9050 to see what role(s) you might enjoy filling.  Help Sarge's achieve its mission, "Saving Animals from Euthanasia".

  • What a wonderful world it would be if pet owners all over WNC would spay or neuter their pets before they breed. Maybe the 24 adoptions a month would be all that is needed.  Pet owners you can help. --  check out the BEAT THE HEAT SPECIAL at Haywood Spay/Neuter.
