From Nov. 26 to Dec. 31, the community is encouraged to adopt a pet —  to save those in danger of being put down at the Haywood County Animal Services Facility.  Sarge’s and Aidan’s Fund will supplement adoption fees, so that dogs can be adopted for $60; male cats for $27.50 and female cats for $37.50. The fee covers cost of spay/neuter and a rabies vaccination.

The shelter is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Fridays; 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays; and from noon to 4 p.m. Sundays. It will be closed on Nov. 22 to 23 and Dec. 24 to 25. Call 456-5338.
