Save the Date for a free bridal event
I don't know about you, but I sure am looking forward to some sunny, warm weather. I've always loved winter, but for some reason I have a hard time finding motivation to plan my wedding when it's below zero and snowflakes are falling outside.
In case you need something to look forward to, just go ahead and mark your calendars for this year's Blue Ridge Bridal Event, which will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 5 in Shackford Hall at Lake Junaluska.
The Bridal Event is FREE and you will get to see tons of local vendors who want to cater to your every wedding need — food, entertainment, flowers, cakes, cookies, dresses — it should all be there.
The Mountaineer began sponsoring this event in Spring 2012 when we realized there weren't any local bridal shows to help ladies plan their weddings. So we pulled together a bunch of local resources so all your weddings needs will be in one convenient place.
I know how difficult it is to plan a wedding, so I can't wait to see what all the vendors have to offer at this year's event. (Last year, there were chocolate and cake tastings).
Bring along some of your Pinterest-inspired wedding ideas and see what some of the vendors can offer you, because let's face it, that's where wedding planning dreams begin these days.
Here's another shameless plug — we also publish a magazine called Blue Ridge Bride, which will come out in March. We use photos featuring local brides and there will be tips from local photographers, wedding planners, florists and more to help you out. I'm working on putting the articles together for the magazine, so brides-to-be feel free to send me some ideas of what you would like to see in the magazine!
We are still looking for individuals and businesses interested in being vendors at the event. If you are interested, contact one of our lovely ad sales ladies (Jennifer or Michelle) and they will help you get a spot at the show and/or an ad in the magazine!
