SBC's 'Mompreneur' workshop is Sept. 9

The Small Business Center of Haywood Community College will offer a free workshop, “Mompreneurs, Balancing Parenthood and Entrepreneurship,” from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9, at the HCC Regional Center for the Advancement of Children.

Starting and managing a successful business is hard enough, but factor in a growing family and the demands reach epic proportions. Serial entrepreneur and mother of two, Emily Breedlove will discuss strategies for coping with opposing emotional expectations, working around conflicting schedules, achieving time management when there aren't enough hours in the day, and ways to be both a good parent and a good CEO.

Breedlove is the founder and president of Small Town Ventures. An entrepreneur by nature, certified in the N.C. REAL Entrepreneurship curriculum, she brings firsthand knowledge and insight to those operating or looking to start a small business of their own. She has successfully started and sold companies ranging from a full-service marketing and design company to a regional co-working and training facility.

Heavy hors d ’oeuvres and beverages will be provided. The workshop is free for small business owners or those looking to start a business. Preregistration is required.
