Second annual Cupcake Challenge is July 31
After the success of last summer's Cupcake Challenge at the Canton Branch Library, staff members have decided to make it an annual event. The second annual Cupcake Challenge will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 31.
The challenge is open to all ages, from children to adults. Sign-up is required for interested bakers, who may register either at the front desk of the Canton Branch Library or by calling 648-2924.
Bakers are asked to make one dozen cupcakes, from scratch or a mix, and decorate them with a “garden” theme — flowers, vegetables, ladybugs, or whatever brings a garden to mind. Decorations must be edible, and each cupcake should be the same flavor. Entries will be judged on taste, presentation and originality. Prizes will be awarded in adult, teen, and children’s categories. There will also be an audience favorite prize this year.
Bakers will need to check-in starting at 1:15 p.m. on the day of the event. General admission and judging will take place starting at 2 p.m. Everyone is invited to come sample the cupcakes, and there will be a cupcake decorating station for children (you don't have to be a baker to attend!). Winners will be announced and prizes will be awarded around 2:45 p.m.
For more information, or to sign-up as a baker, call 648-2924.
