Second annual PlottFest attracts crowds
Lots of dog owners and plenty of Plott hounds turned out to celebrate the second annual PlottFest Saturday, June 22 at the Maggie Valley Festival Grounds.
Held in honor of the North Carolina state dog, this year's festival featured more Plott hound activities than last year, including the American Plott Hound Association sanctioned one and two dog bear bay contests, a bear and coon treeing contest and a youth and all around Plott hound bench show. In between dog events, everyone enjoyed listening to Appalachian music on the live music stage and strolling through craft and food vendors.
The festivities continue Sunday, June 23 with the annual Trout Festival for experienced and amateur anglers alike, in addition to more music.
