Senior Leadership class graduates
The Senior Resource Center of Haywood County graduated its 13th Senior Leadership class this summer.
The leadership graduates work on a Senior Resource Team within their respective communities, helping other seniors, individuals with disabilities and their caregivers find needed programs and services. The teams provide almost 265,000 hours of service a year, valued at $263.920.
In addition to their work in their own communities, they provide many volunteer hours through various nonprofit agencies across the county.
“Seniors are a valuable resource,” said John Chicoine, manager of the Senior Resource Center. “We are simply tapping into the wealth of talent, experience, wisdom and expertise they represent. Every class brings its own unique blend of gifts. We are very grateful that these individuals are so willing to give back to their communities.”
